William Henry Hartwell (1902-1961)
My paternal grandfather, William Henry Hartwell, was a physics professor, and spent most of his career at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. He and his wife Beatrice owned an apartment house on Bagdad Rd., renting out rooms to university students, his parents, and other family members as the need arose. William had a wonderful sense of humor and was adored by his young grandchildren. He unfortunately died of a heart attack a few months shy of his 59th birthday. |
