Hartwell Home Movies
These clips were made possible through the dedicated work of my father, George Hartwell. When Mom's Uncle Frank died in 1965, we inherited his 16mm video camera and projector. Dad learned to operate the equipment and eventually shot over 3,700 feet of movie film of family activities through the late 1970s. The film is silent, as there was no microphone on the camera, but that made it all the more fun to laugh and heckle during movie viewings - usually at Christmas gatherings or up at our cabin on Bow Lake.
Note that you can expand each clip to full screen for a full theater effect. Dim the lights, pass the popcorn, and enjoy the show!
